This production was mounted at the Tony Award winning regional theatre, Signature Theatre, in Arlington, VA in 2003.  Both writers, Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones, were in the entire rehearsal process and updated/changed parts of the show.  Starring Jacquelyn Piro Donovan as Lizzie, Matt Bogart as Starbuck and James Moye as File. This version later went on to Broadway starring Audra McDonald.
